Approachability is crucial to IMPROVING LIVES with our favorite spirit. In the real world, whisky often presents itself to the masses with pomp, circumstance, smoke, and mirrors. Perhaps you’ve come across a bartender who is content being called a ‘mixologist,’ has neck tattoos, and exudes a level of aloof coolness begging for an air sick bag? That’s certainly not us!
There is nothing inherently wrong with a neck tattoo. Face tattoos are generally a different story. Bar spoon or alcohol brand tattoos (especially Fernet Branca) on the forearm are right out.
Mostly we just let the whisky speak for itself through your taste buds and olfactory senses. When it comes to what you perceive, there are no wrong answers. With whisky speaking loudly through your heart, our hosts can pepper boatloads of background historical context, brand lore and category details. Don’t worry – we’ll do it with a smile and tons of patience.
We believe in reading the room and speaking to everyone when presenting. To make assumptions about the knowledge level of a room is off-putting for the noobs at the table, so we make our best effort to tailor each session accordingly – every whisky journey must begin somewhere!
